Prodggggggg...

This was a crazy day back last summer, can't wait to see the whole thing and have a go at spotting myself trying to avoid the mosh pit next to me.

Summer Time...

Well, not quite summer but the weather in London and the rest of the UK has been sunny and warm all week.

Now, this post is a little deceiving because it should really be full of summery tunes that match the lovely weather we've been having.

However I'd rather just stick up a few more tunes I'm liking right now, summer vibes or not.

First up, this little MAW masterpiece (are there any Masters At Work tunes that aren't masterpieces?!) has got so much swing I just can't get it out of my head at the moment.

KenLou - The Bounce

Another track from Poker Flat's brilliantly conceived Forward To The Past (nice play on Back To The Future there) compilation, which features a collection of tracks all produced with a clear nod to the early years of techno and house.

You can preview the album by CLICKING HERE.

And here's one of my favourite tracks from it...

Martin Landsky - V2U

No comments needed for this one.

Zapp & Roger - More Bounce To The Ounce

And probably two of my all time favourite songs. Complete with cheesy, over the top videos to go with them.

Gap Band - Party Train

Bar-Kays - Freakshow On The Dancefloor

Life Changing...

So, I've posted this on my blog before - but, for the first time, I'm slapping something up TWICE.

Reason being is, I didn't realise how monumentous this moment was the first time I posted it. This is basically the moment that has shaped my life since...

...You need to read this entry to understand what I mean: I Dream Of Plastic

Since I got back from Ibiza, I've been seriously engrossed in this music and it's all thanks to the moment Seth Troxler played Jaydee - Plastic Dreams. Well, it's thanks to the whole night really, but when I heard Plastic Dreams being thrown into the mix... well, it was like time stood still. As you may be aware, especially from my previous post, I haven't heard many of the older tracks that I love played live on a proper system in a club - so this was a special moment for me.

And after that, well... my love for the music has grown and grown.

Thanks to YouTube user Mariush81 for filming it.

Guy Gerber & Seth Troxler - Kehakuma Closing Party, Ibiza - September 29th 2010

Oh, and here are a few more tracks (new and old) that I'm seriously in love with.

Steve Bug - Jack Is Back

House Master Boyz & Rude Boy Of House - House Nation

N/A featuring Rosina - Fables And Fairytales (Deniz Kurtel Remix)

Tale of Us - Dark Song

Kenny K Collins - Beat My House

Beltram...

I must have posted these two tracks on my Facebook wall about 10 times each. With both tracks, as soon as I hit play and hear the first few notes, I just lose my mind.

Absolutely two tracks that, to me and many others, are the epitome of techno/hardcore produced in the verly early 90s. Solid, relentless and faultless really - Joey Beltram, and R&S Records in general, definitely led the way in many respects with their approach to the music turning it on its head for a while.

They're so dark, and there's an element of funk and energy that I just love.

Sadly, being the youngster that I am, I've never even heard these fucking tunes played live in a club. Heartbreaking.

One day I will though, one day. And when I do, I'll probably end up being committed to a padded cell somewhere - I really will lose my mind (like I did when I heard Seth Troxler play Jaydee - Plastic Dreams in Ibiza).

Joey Beltram - Energy Flash

Joey Beltram - Mentasm

Latin Snow...

This song was pretty much the theme tune of my recent trip to Snowbombing (one of the best festivals I've been to in a while).

I am absolutely addicted to Latin Freestyle, it's fucking brilliant.

Sending this out to my partner in Team Miami Freestyle, Emma Gritt... "I'm fascinated by your hardcore"! Hahahahaa.

Company B - Fascinated

Can I Get A Remix?...

What They Say, one of 2010's anthems - euphoric, melodic with a nod to the old school of house, yet still fresh and upfront.

One of those tracks that maybe shouldn't have been touched.

However, respect where it's due - Dyed Soundorom and Franck Roger did the business with this one. And yes, I am kinda late, these remixes have been around for a little while now.

Personally, I'm edging towards the Dyed Soundorom one... love the way it rolls and the 'Just another day' sample adds something extra.

Wicked, perfectly suited to the chilly yet summer-like weather we're having at the moment.

Maya Jane Coles - What They Say (Dyed Soundorom remix)
